Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley, West Yorkshire, hosted a spring fair in aid of Dementia Action Week.
Residents and colleagues worked hard on the run-up to the event, creating a tombola as well as displays for inside and outside the home. We also headed into the local community to hand-post flyers to advertise the day.
Our activities co-ordinator, Les, said: “Our efforts paid off, because we had a fantastic turnout on the day.”
We had a wonderful cake stand and barbecue, as well as games like ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’, a raffle and ‘name the teddy’. We also had a live entertainer, who sang some fantastic songs.
Les added: “The day, combined with a sponsored 40-mile cycle ride, raised a total of £500, which will be split between Dementia Friends Keighley, and the activities fund. It was a great event and we’re thankful for everyone making such a huge effort.”View more updates from Duchess Gardens
