Residents of St Mary’s Nursing Home in Moston, Manchester, spent a messy day making garden gnomes from plaster of Paris and painting them.
They found it hilarious when the plaster missed the mould and slopped out – and did a great job of decorating the newly-cast figures in bright colours!
Several of the gnomes have been set aside to grace the home’s gardens in the spring, and more of them were given to friends and relatives in return for a donation.
Other recent events included a special meal of fish and chips and cups of tea, using the home’s best china.
The treat from a local takeaway was arranged by our activity co-ordinators, after some residents were reminiscing about trips to the seaside in years gone by – and the time they had spent eating fish and chips straight from the paper on the seafront.View more updates from St Marys
