High Peak residents meet insects and reptiles

An animal handler brought creepy crawlies and lizards to High Peak Lodge Residential and Nursing Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester.

Our residents were delighted to handle and stroke the insects, including spiders, and reptiles – and even an owl.

We learned about the creatures’ habitats and diet in the wild, tying in with June’s group-wide theme of ‘Qualia Care Celebrates Nature’.

In other news, we’ve been taking part in chair-based exercises, including throwing and kicking a lightweight ball to each other.

In addition, pampering sessions, involving a foot massage in a bubbly water spa, and manicures, have also been popular. We also threw open our doors for National Care Home Open Day.
