Residents of Hillside Care Home in Huyton, Merseyside, spent the day at Knowsley Safari Park.
Our staff arranged two separate trips to the attraction by minibus, after residents put in special requests for a visit there. The excursions allowed a total of eight residents to enjoy a day out, seeing the animals.
The weather was poor on the first visit – but that didn’t stop us from driving around the park to spot tigers and other magnificent wild creatures, in several different zones. We also saw a sea lion show and ventured into the dark and atmospheric bat cave.
On the second trip, the weather was better, and residents got to spend more time outdoors. We saw meercats, giraffes and other animals. On both days out, we used wheelchairs to enable our residents to see as much as possible, and enjoyed lunch in the café.View more updates from Hillside
