Three residents of Sandycroft Nursing Home, Blackpool, dressed up as May queens to celebrate the bank holiday weekend – and the trio ALL won prizes for their efforts!
They made their own tiaras and fairy wands for the fun event, tying in with the groupwide theme “Qualia Care Gets Crating” for the month.
Our activities co-ordinator, Marlene, said: “The ladies also wore garlands and shawls, and held bouquets. We had a competition, but it was impossible to pick one overall winner, so we awarded prizes of chocolate biscuits to all three of our queens.”
May Day weekend got off to a good start with a cabaret act and a buffet tea. The performer sang some of our favourite songs, from Doris Day to Abba.
Marlene continued: “On Monday we played skittles – and colleagues took part in a game of Twister, following residents’ instructions. We’re all game for a laugh and we had a really good time!”View more updates from Sandycroft
