Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley, West Yorkshire, now has a new cinema room, complete with a large screen, projector and luxurious red curtains.
Some of our residents came up with the great idea of repurposing a little-used lounge at the centre and worked with our activity co-ordinator to transform it into the plush film hub.
The cinema room was officially opened at a get-together with popcorn and other nibbles and the first movie to be shown was the 1956 classic musical, The King And I – as chosen by residents! Different films will be screened every week and residents have been busy deciding what they would like to watch next.
Staff and residents have also been partying for St Patrick’s Day, making Easter bonnets for a parade, and planning a 1940s themed day.View more updates from Duchess Gardens
