Pampering day at Washington Lodge

Residents and staff enjoyed a pampering day at Washington Lodge Nursing Home in the North East.

A mobile hairdresser arrived at the home at 10am to offer our ladies a wash, cut, blow-dry or perm. Our activities co-ordinator, Julie, helped out by painting nails and giving hand massages.

She also gave some of the men a shave and clipped their nails.

Julie said: “Our hairdresser comes in every Tuesday and we all love her visits, as it makes the residents feel refreshed. As well as getting their hair done, our ladies love having sparkly new nails – and massages help with their circulation.”

While the ladies finished off having their nails attended to, the men headed outside to play a friendly game of football.

Julie explained: “Lots of the men used to play football when they were younger, so they loved kicking a football around and we all cheered when someone scored a goal!”
