Residents at Sandycroft dress up for Armed Forces party

Residents and colleagues at Sandycroft Nursing Home, Blackpool, loved dressing up for Armed Forces Day.

The celebration, held every year, recognises and commemorates the service of men and women of the British Armed Forces, with events all over the country.

We held a party, with classic wartime music, a raffle and beer shandies, served on a trolley.

Marlene, our activities co-ordinator, said: “As it was a special occasion, we gave all of the residents a little gift – which they were really pleased about receiving.

“The atmosphere was amazing – everyone was in high spirits. We had such a fantastic afternoon!”

In other news, we have been making the most of the sun in our garden, by playing skittles and eating ice lollies – linking in nicely with the group-wide theme for July of ‘Qualia gets sporty’.
