Residents and colleagues at Hillside Nursing Home in Huyton, Merseyside, were treated to a morning and afternoon of music.
Farley’s community ladies choir, based in Knowsley, were the first on the bill, performing wartime songs and classics from musicals – with plenty of opportunity for us to clap and sing along. Then, after lunch, we welcomed the Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra.
On another day recently, we enjoyed a visit from a group of 10 and 11-year-olds from nearby St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School.
Accompanied by their head teacher on guitar, the group sang some of the famous songs of Buddy Holly, for a group of our residents, who have dementia.
Our activities co-ordinator, Becca, said: “We all appreciate music here, and we love having a range of different performers singing and playing for us. It’s a real treat.View more updates from Hillside
