Residents make Christmas crafts at Duchess Gardens

Residents and staff at Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley, West Yorkshire, worked together to make some creative Christmas decorations.

We fashioned two cosy-looking fireplaces from cardboard – one for the lounge and one for the main reception area – to give the home a traditional, festive air. They featured painted, roaring fires and snowy mantles.

We also made cardboard stockings to hang on the wall, and gift cups of hot chocolate powder and marshmallows to sell at our Christmas fair.

Our manager, Paul, said: “We have been having Christmas craft sessions every Monday and Thursday and the residents have loved being creative and trying their hand at making gifts and decorations. They also helped to decorate our artificial tree with baubles and tinsel.”
