The sound of ukuleles fills Simonsfield

Simonsfield Residential Care Home enjoyed a visit from the Liverpool Ukulele Band, as part of our programme of summer activities.

And, the musicians will be returning – this time to concentrate on performing Gallic classics – for our Bastille Day celebrations on July 10.

Fresh baguettes, speciality cheeses and fine wines will all be on the menu to celebrate all things French!

In other news, our activities co-ordinator, Dawn, has been continuing her efforts to make our garden really sparkle – co-ordinating with June’s group-wide theme of ‘Qualia Care Celebrates Nature’.

She said: “I’ve painted our summer house and it looks so pretty, especially on the inside. I’ve gone for a beach theme, using shades of bluebell blue, and chalk white – completing the look with a display shelf of sand, shells and rustic, nautical rope.

“We’re getting a table and chairs in there, with cups and saucers, to make it the perfect place to relax!”
