Two theatre trips for residents of Simonsfield

Residents of Simonsfield Residential Care Home in Liverpool have been to the theatre twice in recent weeks.

The first was a visit to the beautiful, Art Deco-styled Royal Court Theatre in the city, to watch a matinee performance of the Western musical Paint Your Wagon.

The show was advertised as dementia-friendly, meaning that the audience members could sit closer to the action, join in where appropriate – and not worry if they needed to leave the auditorium at any point.

Residents also went to the Brindley Theatre in Runcorn to see a production called All Our Yesterdays in which performers donned a succession of retro costumes to sing songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

The residents, who go out and about in our minibus, were also treated to a carvery lunch at Evenwood Farm in Runcorn, before the show.
