Walton Manor marks resident’s birthday in style

A resident’s milestone birthday was celebrated with a party featuring entertainment and cake at Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home in Liverpool.

The get-together was in honour of one resident, Sheila, who turned 70. Local singer, Brian Farrell, performed hits from the 50s and 60s – and some residents even took a turn on the microphone, as well as clapping and dancing along.

Our activities co-ordinator, Marina, said: “It was a great party. Our residents love music and singing, and we have our own karaoke machine with two microphones. We love to make our own entertainment, as well as welcoming guest performers.

“Residents love to sing their favourite hits from decades gone by, including the 70s and 80s, and the lyrics come up on a big TV so that we can all join in.”

Marina added: “Our motto is that it’s important to have fun, whether that involves getting up and singing, or simply enjoying our get-togethers with a smile on your face.”
