Dignity Action Day Marked at Washington Lodge

Residents and staff at Washington Lodge Nursing Home in the North East of England celebrated Dignity Action Day – a national initiative run by the National Dignity Council – by inviting family members to afternoon tea.

We created a lovely display in the reception area, featuring a tree of wishes, where residents and their relatives could write on a paper leaf something they would like to do, or hadn’t been able to do so far.

Dignity Action Day encourages health and social care workers to promote dignity in their place of work, and members of the public to think about dignity for others in their communities.
