Washington Lodge residents involved in exciting art project

Over the last couple of weeks, Washington Lodge residents became involved in an exciting project alongside Sunderland Winter Gardens and Museum. In February 2019 there will be a Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition held at the museum, alongside this will be portraits of the elderly residents of Washington. Washington Lodge was one of the homes chosen to take part in this exhibition.

During the week artist Andrew Tift was in taking photos of all our residents from which he will choose 5 residents to have their portraits painted to exhibit alongside the DA Vinci exhibition

Following on from this the Winter Gardens will provide eight half-day sessions where an artist will come in and work with the residents to produce works of art on heritage which will also be hung in the gallery at the time of the exhibition.
