St Mary’s is a peaceful and welcoming purpose-built care home offering high standards of kind and considerate nursing and residential care.
We have the distinction of being one of only two care homes in the country to have an onsite chapel, which welcomes both residents and members of the public.
Daily mass is streamed to each individual bedroom via a television link, enabling everyone to participate.
St Mary’s provides quality nursing and residential care for those who need 24-hour personal support and for those with a condition that requires specialised nursing care, convalescence care for people recovering from surgery or illness, as well as kind and respectful palliative care.
Our dedicated staff are able to provide specialist care for people with Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and those affected by stroke.
Our chefs take pride in getting to know the likes and dislikes of our residents and can cater to dietary and cultural needs. We serve a varied menu of delicious and nutritious home-cooked food made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
We believe that keeping active is essential to residents’ wellbeing and strive to give purpose and enjoyment to every day. As such, our activities team provides a tailored activities and outings programme based on residents’ interests and preferences.

Manager at St Mary’s
I have been a care home manager since 2005 and have enjoyed more than 30 years’ experience in health and social care, in many different settings and with vulnerable residents and patients of all ages.
When I was just 14 I began working as a volunteer in Providence Hospital in St Helens and progressed from there to forge a career as a carer and manager.
At St Mary’s we strive to make sure our processes involved in the delivery of care are of the highest professional standards – and that they are developed in consultation with residents and their families, friends and advocates.
It is vital that people who use our services have dignity, privacy and ownership of their care plans. Supporting people to be independent and empowered is key to our culture here.
St Mary’s is in the residential suburb of Moston, just three miles north east of Manchester’s vibrant city centre.
