A resident of High Peak Lodge Residential and Nursing Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, fulfilled a wish to have afternoon tea with her family members, despite coronavirus restrictions.
Our activities co-ordinator, Leanne, explained: “The lady is very poorly and really wanted to take a trip to her favourite seaside destination of Southport, for afternoon tea with her loved ones.
“As this wasn’t possible, due to Covid-19, we arranged to have a luxury takeaway afternoon tea delivered to our home. The lady’s son and daughter-in-law were able to visit and enjoy it with her. Fellow residents also shared in some of the treats.”
We have also been having meditation sessions, joining together for light exercise, and playing bingo, dominoes and darts.
In other news, we have been taking part in jukebox afternoons, when we cue up residents’ favourite songs to play. Leanne says: “Our residents love to hear tunes that they haven’t heard for a while – and music is a great way to remember times gone by.”View more updates from High Peak Lodge
