Residents of Birchley Hall Care Home raised money for the Alzheimer’s Society selling bakes, charms, and diaries on a craft stall for Cupcake Day.
Colleagues treated themselves to the gifts as well as sweet treats with a twist – a nip of Guinness in the mix!
Our deputy manager, Nicole, explained: “The Alzheimer’s Society holds Cupcake Day every year to help raise funds for the fight against dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
“We wanted to show our support and decided to offer something a bit different. Everyone who tried a Guinness cake said they were lovely! Our residents made good salespeople – they were very persuasive and collected £40 in total.”
In other news, we’ve been getting together in the afternoons to sing our favourite hymns from ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’ to ‘Give Me Joy’ and ‘I Watched The Sun Rise.’View more updates from Birchley Hall
