Residents and colleagues at Birchley Hall Care Home in Billinge, St Helens, have begun their Christmas preparations.
We have been decorating polystyrene baubles with lace and little gems, ready to hang on our tree when the time comes to install it.
We are also planning to make a festive scarecrow to sit on the grass outside our home, and bring a smile to passers-by.
We enjoyed a Halloween party with spooky tunes and dancing – where our men donned scary bow ties and our ladies wore home-made witches’ hats.
In other news, our ladies have been having gel nails done. Our activities co-ordinator, Kathleen, said: “Lots of our residents love to have their nails painted but the paint chips off so quickly, and it’s such a shame when this happens.
“I have a gel nail kit at home – so I brought it in, and started a new craze! The ladies are loving choosing their colours. One resident loves bright red, and another always goes for turquoise!”View more updates from Birchley Hall
