Films and Easter crafts at St Mary’s

Residents and colleagues at St Mary’s Nursing Home in Moston, Greater Manchester, have enjoyed celebrating Easter – despite having to cancel many planned activities due to the lockdown.

We made Easter cards and watched a film – about Moses and the parting of the waves – on our huge 83” screen.

Some yummy treats have also been eaten by everyone as we made chocolate fudge brownies and enjoyed a fish and chip afternoon – thanks to a delivery service from our local chip shop, Harry’s.

Our activities co-ordinator, Norma, said: “Our residents have enjoyed a range of crafting activities, and also liked getting involved in our DVD singalongs – the latest being ‘Golden Memories Karaoke’. It really sets a great atmosphere in the home.”

In other news, we’ve played ten-pin bowling and produced our own rainbow flags which we’ve hung up outside, containing supportive messages such as ‘Stay safe’ and ‘Be kind’.

We want to give a special thanks to our local Morrisons store too – after hearing that our residents were having no contact with their families, the store manager provided us all with an Easter egg for only 45p each!
