High Peak Lodge gets green-fingered

Residents of High Peak Lodge Residential and Nursing Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, have been taking part in regular games.

Our activities co-ordinator, Aisling, said: “We’ve been holding darts competitions, as well as playing dominoes, which we always enjoy.

“We have also introduced the residents to ‘Beetle’, the party game where participants draw a beetle in parts, and I think this is going to be another firm favourite!”

We have been enjoying the warm weather, and residents have taken it in turns to visit our greenhouse, to water the tomatoes and cucumbers that we are growing in there.

In other news, we have set up a regular Sunday service for the residents, which involves live streaming of a local parish’s morning worship. This means we can sing the hymns and take part in prayers.

We have also been continuing with regular pamper sessions and chair exercises – which now involve some meditation and yoga to relax us all!
