Young disabled residents of Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley, West Yorkshire, have enjoyed revamping our downstairs lounge.
They chose a rusty wood effect wallpaper from a series of samples, and smart grey flooring – accessorised with copper-coloured ornaments.
Our activities co-ordinator, Paul, said: “Our residents helped with pasting the wallpaper and painting the walls. We even sprayed accessories with metallic paint to add a co-ordinating touch.
“We enjoyed seeing the transformation so much that we stayed up till 10.30pm one night – we were so absorbed in the styling process!”
In other news, we had a great garden party with snacks, drinks and a visiting singer, Emma, who performed hits from wartime to the 80s.
We have a new activities co-ordinator, Mandy, who will be working with Paul to keep residents engaged, active and entertained.
She has been getting to know our everyone on a one-to-one basis, and painting nails as well as trimming and styling hair.View more updates from Duchess Gardens
