Pamper time at Washington Lodge

At Washington Lodge Nursing Home in the North East, residents have been enjoying regular pamper sessions.

We have had a couple of ‘ladies only’ pamper days, where the residents have enjoyed having their nails painted – and picked their own colours from a variety of options!

Our activities co-ordinator, Julie, said: “I wash, blow dry and curl the residents’ hair every week, but the additional manicure sessions are very well received. And we don’t forget about the men – they have fresh shaves regularly too!”

We have also been holding both group and one-to-one sessions, reminiscing about the past. This has included thinking about life at school, family members, work, and where we used to live – plus looking at photographs to help.

In other news, our knitting club still meets regularly, and we have been and carrying out our armchair exercises to keep us moving!
