Pottery and partying at Duchess Gardens

Residents of Duchess Gardens Care Centre in Bingley, West Yorkshire, were treated to a dazzling cabaret performance from our very own activities co-ordinator, Paul.

He dressed up in a series of beautiful drag costumes to mime to songs from hit musicals including ‘Sister Act’ and ‘9 to 5’, as part of our LGBTQ Pride Month celebrations.

Our manager, Helen, said: “Lots of our young adult residents, and plenty of the older ones, were really keen for Paul to put on a show for them – so this fantastic performance was by special request!”

In other news, residents of our young disabled unit have been picking out new wallpaper and paint for some of our communal areas. We brought in samples of different designs and colours for them to choose from.

Our next job will be some team decorating sessions, with a chance to pitch in for anyone who would like to be involved!
