Residents at High Peak enjoy homemade pancakes

Residents and colleagues of High Peak Lodge Residential and Nursing Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, enjoyed some delicious pancakes on Pancake Day.

Each of our residents chose their own toppings and created their own flavour combinations – including chocolate and strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice with sugar.

Leanne, our activities co-ordinator, said: “We held pancake tossing competitions – one for the residents and one for staff members – to see who could flip their pancake the best in the pan.

“It was a lot of fun, and we all loved the delicious treat.”

In other news, we have also started a new activity called ‘Jukebox Remembrance’ where we ask residents to write a song down that they used to listen to when they were younger. We then play the track for everyone to hear, which evokes wonderful memories from the time it was released.

Leanne added: “We enjoy listening to people’s stories and memories, so this is something we will definitely continue to do.”
