Residents and colleagues at Washington Lodge Nursing Home in the North East enjoyed a fantastic party to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
We watched a live Facebook stream, on our big screen, of various singers performing wartime classics. We all joined in with the singing and dancing. We also enjoyed some lovely food including finger sandwiches and cakes.
Our activities co-ordinator, Julie, said: “We had a great time and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved to mark such a historic occasion.”
We have also taken part in a pamper morning, where manicures and hand massages were offered to all residents. And we have enjoyed reminiscing about our families, who we cannot see at this difficult time.
In other news, we have enjoyed listening to some music in the garden – with classic tunes from the likes of Bing Crosby and Dean Martin.View more updates from Washington Lodge
