Residents and colleagues at Downshaw Lodge Care Home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, have been busy drawing and painting while listening to their favourite songs.
Our activities co-ordinator, Andrew, said: “We play background music all day here and it really helps to set a creative mood!
“Recently, residents have been starting with a blank sheet of paper and a range of paints, and letting their imagination take over.”
We’ve also been taking part in karaoke sessions, singing classic hits by the likes of Elvis and Frank Sinatra, and watching football on TV with a beer in hand.
For Fathers’ Day, some residents had cards and presents delivered – and one recorded a short video of himself singing, with our help, to WhatsApp to his son!
