Residents and colleagues of Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home in Liverpool celebrated a very special birthday for one of our ladies.
Winifred turned 102 – and was delighted to receive plenty of cards and presents. She also enjoyed a distanced visit from family members – and colleagues as well as fellow residents sang happy birthday to her.
Our activities co-ordinator, Marina, said: “Winifred is very independent and likes to keep busy. Though she uses a walking frame, she does as much as she can – including things like making her own bed, putting clothes away and opening and closing her curtains.
“Winifred was keen not to have a big fuss for her birthday, but I think she enjoyed our singing!”
In other news, we had a little Halloween party with a buffet, drinks and games, and we have been colouring in poppies, ready to display for Remembrance Day.
