Walton Manor celebrates key milestone

Residents and colleagues of Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home in Liverpool are this week looking forward to celebrating the 55th wedding anniversary of resident Rita, and her husband.

Marina, our activities co-ordinator, said: “Rita’s husband will be popping in to see her, and we will present them with a bunch of flowers and a card, to mark such a long marriage!”

We’ve also been enjoying pamper sessions, with hands and nails being bathed then painted, as well as playing games of bingo.

Armchair exercises have been taking place, in time to music chosen by the residents –including a range of favourite artists from The Rolling Stones to Abba.

Some residents have been taking one-to-one shopping trips out with colleagues – for example, Rose had a lovely day out with a visit to M&S, where she purchased new clothes and bedding.

In other news, the family of a former resident has donated some beautiful iron garden furniture – which has been painted cream, green and gold, in a vintage style, and makes the garden look so elegant!
